Don’t mess with kids around Melissa McCarthy. The funny actress is in North Carolina directing a film called Tammy and she got pretty upset with an extra on set this week. According to TMZ, the extra, a woman in her 20s, brought along her four or five-year-old kid for a daylong shoot by a lake. During production, the mother constantly told her kid to quiet down, loud enough to disrupt things on set and annoy people, but when the woman jerked the kid by the wrist, McCarthy had had enough and she fired the woman.

Don’t expect to see Seth MacFarlane hosting the Oscars next year. The Family Guy creator wrote on Twitter that he won’t be making a repeat performance, explaining, “I tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep.” Seth went on to suggest that producers of the awards show tap Joaquin Phoenix to host in 2014.

Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers is reported to be in talks to come aboard J.J. Abrams new Star Wars project. According to E!, Meyers, who is best known for his role as “King Henry VIII” on the Showtime series The Tudors, had previously worked with Abrams on the film Mission Impossible III. It’s not yet known what role Jonathan would play, but if it is true that he’ll be appearing in the new Star Wars film we should know shortly as pre-production on the project is
